SATURDAY: Clifton Forge Independence Day Celebration
Featuring a 5K race and walk, the Stars and Stripes parade and a reading of the Declaration of Independence. In the evening there will be entertainment, food, games and fireworks at the C&O Heritage Center.

JULY 4: Children's Bike Parade
Children are invited to decorate bicycles, scooters and wagons and have their faces painted at 10 a.m. before a ride down Main Street. Each child will receive a bag of decorations. Hot dogs, watermelon and lemonade will be provided at the finish line.

JULY 4: Independence Day at Poplar Forest

JULY 4: Bell Ringing
The Fort Lewis DAR presents a bell ringing. The 13 states and signers of the Declaration of Independence will also be called out.

JULY 4: Bedford Fourth of July Libertyfest Celebration
A family friendly event featuring live music by Stealing Home, food and fireworks.

JULY 4: The Roanoke Times Music For Americans
Featuring music by Still Surfin', food and fireworks. Picnics, blankets, chairs and coolers are allowed. This event will also kick off The Roanoke Times' 125th anniversary celebration. Free anniversary doughnuts created by Blue Collar Joe's will be given away to 500 attendees.

JULY 4: Four on the Fourth
A 4-mile race to benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southwest Virginia.

After years without July 4 fireworks, the Salem Fair is bringing them back.

Note: Due to fire marshal's requirements, the display is expected to be smaller than years past. If it rains Monday, fireworks will be delayed until Tuesday.

Door prizes, post-race food for runners and art activities for children. Proceeds will benefit the Academy of Fine Arts Visual Arts Program.
