Roanoke Civic Center parking information
Roanoke Civic Center has a big Saturday planned: "Scrooge" the musical is in the performing arts theater at 4 p.m.; the Bill Gaither homecoming concert starts at 6 p.m. in the coliseum.
Civic center staff, anticipating big traffic, has posted parking and shuttle information for folks coming out that day.
Parking will be free at the Elmwood Park Garage, located at Williamson Road and Tazewell Avenue, and at the Church Avenue Garage. Free shuttles will run from those sites starting at 4 p.m., continuing until everyone attending has been shuttled back to the garages.
The civic center has reserved several parking lots on site. Lot B is for people with handicaps. Lot C is for charter buses. Lots A and E, on the Orange Avenue side of the civic center, are for people attending the Gaither and "Scrooge" shows.
Golf carts will be available to help elderly and disabled persons get from their vehicles to the venues.
