"Sanders Family Christmas"
It's Christmas in July at the Blue Ridge Dinner Theatre with their Sanders family production. The year is 1941, and the Sanders family has just returned to Mount Pleasant Baptist Church on Christmas Eve. Rev. Oglethorpe has invited the family to sing and witness before some of the boys are shipped off to fight in the Second World War. It's $27 today because it's a matinee, but evening shows are $35. Showing today at noon. (Also showing Wednesday at noon, Saturday at 6 p.m., July 29 at noon, July 30 at noon and Aug. 2 at 6 p.m.). 200 Wiley Drive, Ferrum. 365-4335, blueridgedinnertheatre.com.
Jazz on the Patio
Take a load off with this new summer series presenting live jazz outdoors on the Brody Room Patio at the Roanoke Main Library. This week they've got the Leslie Brooks Jazz Duo singing great jazz standards in addition to originals. The duo is accompanied by Marc Baskind. Seating and refreshments are provided. Free. 6 to 8 p.m. 706 S. Jefferson St., Roanoke. 853-1057, roanokeva.gov.
