Here's a good reason not to party yourself out during today's July 4 festivities -- Wine Down the Music Trail is happening Saturday and Sunday.
The festival, held at the FloydFest site, will have vino from at least 15 Southwest Virginia wineries. That's a lot of wine! So find a designated driver, who can get in for a bargain, and you can have fun and get home safely.
While you sip the grape, local, regional and national bands will give you a soundtrack of original music.
The Subdudes play Americana music filtered through New Orleans. Club Boheme features Peggy Lee and Billie Holiday-style vocals with Gypsy jazz tunecraft. William Walter & Co. do easy-going jam rock. Roanoke-based bluegrass mashers Blue Mule and Bebop Hoedown each have recorded new CDs.
