Recalling a creepy 'Hitchcock' episode
Q: Years ago I saw a show that was in the mood/theme of "The Twilight Zone" or an Alfred Hitchcock thriller. The setting is a prison. One of the prisoners works in the prison morgue. He becomes good friends with the undertaker. The prisoner makes a deal with the undertaker to help him escape. When the next prisoner dies, he will sneak into the casket with the body. Then after they bury the prisoner, the undertaker will come back and dig him up and, voila -- he is a free man!
When the bell rings in the prison chapel to signal a recent death, the prisoner gets into the casket with the dead body, is carried out to the graveyard and is buried. He waits and waits for the undertaker to dig him up. Nobody comes. Finally, he lights a match to see that the undertaker is the corpse who is in the casket with him!

A: I knew exactly what you were talking about by the fourth sentence. I remember seeing that episode as a kid, and it has stuck with me ever since. The show is "Alfred Hitchcock Presents," and the episode was called "Final Escape." The 1955 version can be found on DVD. The revamped 1985 version (which is the one I remember) can be seen on the cable/satellite network called Chiller.
Q: Will "Dog the Bounty Hunter" be back on A&E?
-- Sheila, Port Charlotte, Fla.
A: In May, A&E announced that "Dog the Bounty Hunter," starring Duane "Dog" Chapman, would resume production and return to the small screen starting June 25. At first, reruns will air, followed a few weeks later by new episodes.
