Places to go, things to do
TODAY
Norfolk Southern Festival of New Works
It's the last day of the festival, so if you want to see it this year, you'd better head on over to Mill Mountain Theatre. "Splitting Heirs," a play by Freyda Thomas inspired by Jean-Francois Regnard's "Le Legataire Universel," is playing at 2 p.m. $15. Mill Mountain Theatre, One Market Square, Roanoke. millmountain.org.
Drew Exposition
It's also the last day to catch the Expo, which happened two weeks earlier than in years past. Ride the rides from noon to 8 p.m. today and then say goodbye until next year. Free admission, ticket sales for rides. Roanoke Civic Center Parking Lot. 345-4030.
MONDAY
NCAA Softball
Take the whole family for a day of Division III softball -- it's the championship, so the games will be worth it. $10 daily pass, $6 for youth. Games at noon, 2:30 and 7:30 p.m. James I. Moyer Sports Complex, 1000 Union St., Salem.
Radford Fiddle and Banjo Jam
Get out the fiddle and have some fun. Bluegrass and old-time mountain music jam session. Free. 7 p.m. Coffee Mill, 1144 E. Main St., Radford. 267-3008, radfordfiddle.com.
