Big Lick Green Drinks
The local chapter of the international organization meets in a social setting with local "greenies" to discuss eco-concerns, topics and issues over food and drinks. Attending is free but you pay for your own food and drinks. 7 p.m. All Sports Cafe, 131 E. Main St., Salem. 389-1298, greendrinks.org.
Stop and Shop Storytime
With all those errands you've got to do, why not take a break for storytime with your preschool-age children. You sit with them, Roanoke Public Libraries hosts the storytelling. After a story and a quick power-boost, you'll be ready to get back to shopping. 11 a.m. Valley View e-Branch Library, second floor of the mall across from Lens Crafters. 853-2955.

Salem Avalanche
Wednesdays are Feed Your Face Night at Salem Memorial Baseball Stadium and they're playing the Frederick Keys. The game starts at 7:07 p.m. and for $10 you get a general admission ticket and all the hot dogs, hamburgers, popcorn and peanuts you can handle. 389-3333, salemavalanche.com.
