Corner shot
Your spouse might hear James Taylor's "How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved by You)." Your college buddy could get Alec Baldwin's now-famous rant to his daughter. And the brother-in-law you disagree with politically might hear, "The person you are calling is not available. Please leave a message after the tone ... and don't forget to vote for Giuliani!"
Thanks to a company called YouMail, there is now a service that allows people to record or download a different outgoing message for each person who calls their cellphone.
YouMail users can expose their callers to everything from poetry to political preaching, then share their greetings in an online library containing thousands of audio files.
There's even a "DitchMail" feature that allows users to play a not-so-nice greeting, then hang up before the caller can leave a message -- perfect for ex-boyfriends/girlfriends or that person you met a few weekends ago who just won't stop calling.
I'm wondering if it might also be good to use on telemarketers.
