Description: You will be introduced to a centuries old art form that started out for flooring and then as wall and ceiling designs. Today, mosaics have a place in the world as works of fine art, in public art projects, as functional pieces, and decorative accessories. Mosaics can be extremely intricate, deceptively simple or whimsical and fun. You will learn the basics of mosaic design and construction, explore options for design and projects and complete a flat panel mosaic. Project selection and supplies will be discussed at the first class. Eight week program.
