Betty Branch: Through the Crow's Eye, A Retrospective
|
| Description: |
The Eleanor D. Wilson Museum at Hollins University is originating the first major retrospective of artist Betty Branch. This exhibition honors one of the most well-respected sculptors in the southeast region. Her work has been on display throughout the U.S. and internationally and will be presented alongside her personal writings in an exhibition showcasing decades' worth of artistic experimentation and perseverence. Branch studied art and art history at Hollins before serving as an apprentice at Miles and Generalis Sculpture Studio in Philadelphia. Much of her work focuses on the female form in various media, including bronze, stone, fiber, ceramic, terra cotta, earthenware, and straw.
