With ongoing exhibits of folk art, selections from the museum's American collection and an installation following the design of the new art museum. Plus Art Venture, an interactive family gallery. March 20 to May 31: "Devorah Sperber: A Strange Sense of Deja vu," an exhibit of composite works that use technology as a starting point to use everyday objects in heroic ways (Art Talk at 6 p.m. March 19; $10, reservations required). March 20 to May 31: "Apocalypse Management: Vistas and Details," an exhibition by multimedia artist Chris Doyle in the museum's MediaLab including a series of connected light boxes of a large-scale diorama made from images pulled from the Internet and reworked by the artist. March 20 to June 7: "In Life I was Silent, In Death I Sing," featuring a group of regional instrument makers (Cyrus Pace explores the history of jazz and considers the guitar as an instrument and an object of art itself at noon April 10; free). Closing May 24: "Constructed and Delivered: The Taubman Museum of Art," exhibiting how the museum was constructed and what strategies were involved in its inception. Closing Closing Aug. 31: "Mark Jenkins: Recordings," a series of tape and cloth-based sculptures for non-gallery areas throughout the museum. Oct. 25: "17th Century Florentine Painting: Selections from the Haukohl Family Collection," an exhibition of the largest collection of 17th century Florentine art held in America by a private family. June 12 to Aug. 16: "Peter Henry Emerson and American Naturalistic Photography," an exhibit of naturalistic photography. June 12 to Aug. 23: "Sam Easterson: Eco-Sensing," an exhibit created with remote imaging and sensing technologies. June 12 to Aug. 16: "D.I.R.T. Studios: Transforming Wastelands," based on the work of designer in building regenerative landscapes, Julie Bargmann. June 12 to Aug. 23: "Reverences: Terri Dowell Dennis and Donna Polseno," a multi-media exhibit exploring Southern and Appalachian craft traditions, traditional women's roles and more. Sept. 4 to Nov. 8: "Pae White: Lisa, Bright and Dark," an exhibit by Los Angeles based Pae White. Sept. 4 to Nov. 2: "Judith Schaechter: A Relentless Pursuit of Perfection," hand-crafted stained glass pieces displayed in light boxes. Sept. 4 to Nov. 2: "Alberto Gaitan: Remembrancer," a group of audience-driven painting machines triggered by data collected over the Internet or movements within the space. Ongoing exhibits include "Selections from the Permanent Collection," an exhibit in three galleries with highlights including paintings by Winslow Homer, Norman Rockwell and other and; "Earthly Delights: Judith Leiber Handbags," an installation of about 30 handbags and pillboxes. Museum hours: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday; 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday; noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.
