Pecan PieHoliday news and informationReader-submitted recipesPecan Pie 1/4 cup butter 2/3 cup brown sugar, firmly packed 1/4 tsp. salt 3/4 cup dark corn syrup 3 eggs, beaten 1 tsp. vanilla 1 pie crust 1 cup pecan halves Cream butter and sugar together until flurry; add next four ingredients. Line pie pan with pastry and sprinkle with pecans. Pour filling over pecans. Bake in a 450 degree oven for 10 minutes, then reduce temperature to 350 degrees and bake 35 minutes longer or until knife inserted in center comes out clean. Note: Adjust cooking time to your own oven. Check after 25 minutes to see if it is done. — Joan Bugbee, Roanoke |
