Make-Ahead Mashed Potatoes

6 medium potatoes

1/2 cup sour cream

3 oz. cream cheese, softened and cut into cubes

2 Tbsp. butter

1 tsp. garlic salt

1/4 tsp. pepper

1/4 to 1/2 cup milk

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Peel and cut up potatoes and boil in salted water until tender. Drain and combine potatoes with remaining ingredients except milk. Gradually beat in enough of the milk to make the potato mixture smooth and fluffy.

Turn into a greased 1 1/2 quart casserole dish. Cover with foil and refrigerate up to 24 hours. When you are ready to bake the casserole, dot the top with butter and bake, uncovered, for 45 minutes or until heated through.
