Cat Hall
Casey Templeton | The
Roanoke Times

Home: Roanoke

Age: 46

Sign: Aquarius

Occupation: Lead trainer for the marketing department of a diabetic pharmacy.

Nominated by: India Ellis, a former co-worker who had nothing but good things to say about Cat.

About Cat: An ex-private eye who never takes lunch, Cat's always upbeat unless she's sick. Her philosophy is "life's simple," and people say her laugh is contagious. Active and strong, she comes from a family of eight and she's not afraid to speak her mind.

General interests: Cat collects angels and loves books (Christian novels, clean romance or anything that makes her laugh). She enjoys karate and action films, and she's interested in alternative homeopathic medicine.

Where you're most likely to find her: Cat can be spotted range shooting in Wytheville, horseback riding, enjoying a quiet afternoon at Barnes & Noble Booksellers or searching for various antiques and treasures at yard sales and auctions. She's not a bar hopper, but she'll have a drink every once in a while.

Cat's routine when she goes out: Her work life is her only routine; she prefers her personal life to be spontaneous. "Life's so much more fun without a routine," she said.

How long she's been single: 4 years

Pro of single life: Doing what she wants whenever she wants to.

Con of single life: It's nice to have an affectionate mate to go places with.

Whom she'd like to meet: A Southern Christian gentleman (or at least someone who believes in God) who's both easygoing and fun. If you're moody or negative, Cat's not interested.

In the next five years, Cat expects: To have a home with a rose garden. Other than a rose garden, Cat's only long-term plans are to be happy and content.

How she rates Roanoke's single life on a scale of 1 to 5: 3

Why? She gave Roanoke a middle-of-the-road rating because she doesn't think she knows enough about Roanoke's dating scene. Cat's lived in the area for a few years, but she's still learning her way around. Her dating experience has mostly been limited to online sites like match.com and christiancafe.com.

Best date: Something romantic like a quiet dinner and then dancing beneath the stars.

Worst date: She's never had a bad date (hard to believe, but true). Cat's a firm believer in "giving what you get."

How to approach Cat: With a warm hello and a smile.
