Cameron McLaughlin plays the mess out of a bass guitar. But the ego is in check. When he met another fine bass player, Matt Henninger, at a bass camp a couple years back, the two realized they could make some great double-bass music together — without making it sound like two bassists were just having a freaked-out ego trip.

The result is their band, Balancing Act. McLaughlin and bandmate Josh Shilling came in to spin a couple of the songs and talk about the process.
