PODCAST: Farm Out

The Wading Girl's Sarah Harrison and her parents
talk about the 3-year-old festival at their farm

Usually, when you want to quit rocking and rolling around the house, your folks are all for it. Sarah Garrison's parents don't want her to stop.

She had run Farm Out — her way of providing Roanoke's regional bands with a place to play — for two summers and had had enough. But her father, Jim Garrison, had grown to love the event. Her mother, Pat, loved it, too.

Sarah, of The Wading Girl, and her parents join us on the podcast to talk about this year's version, set for July 16 at their family farm, and play some tunes you might here that day, if you go. Pat and Jim say you'll have a great time.

In case you didn't know, we've been doing these podcasts for a little while now. What are they? They're like radio shows in mp3 format. You can right click and hit "save target as" to download them to your computer or mp3 player, or just stream them by hitting the pointy thing in the RealPlayer box above right. If you want to get with the leading edge tech stuff, you can drag the XML button above left onto your news reader.
