ALFIE
A breezier and sleeker update of the 1966 classic that launched Michael Caine's career. Jude Law plays a limo driver whose single goal in life is to bed as many good-looking women as he can. At some point, the booty call becomes a wake-up call and Alfie realizes the emptiness of his life. An entertaining, bittersweet comedy. Rated R for strong sexual content, nudity and language. One hour, 50 min.

FESTIVAL EXPRESS
A short, loose, tuneful documentary about a trainload of musicians (including the Grateful Dead, Janis Joplin, the Band and more) who toured Canada in 1970 and had a great time onstage and off. The film may not have the heft of "Woodstock" or "Gimme Shelter" but most of the music rocks the house - particularly Joplin's paint-stripping show-closer, "Tell Mama." Rated R for profanity. One hour, 29 min.

FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS
Billy Bob Thornton, Derek Luke, Lucas Black, Tim McGraw. A high school football coach faces social pressure and scrutiny as he tries to guide his team to a title. Rated PG-13 for thematic issues, sexual content, language, some teen drinking and rough sports action. One hour, 57 min.

THE GRUDGE
Sarah Michelle Gellar, Bill Pullman. Taut little horror movie adapted for American audiences by director Takashi Shimuzu, who made the Japanese original. Basically an old-fashioned haunted house yarn with a few new tricks up its sleeve. Rated PG-13 for violence and intensity. One hour, 35 min.

THE INCREDIBLES
Another animated classic from Pixar Studios. This latest digital jaunt follows a family of superheroes who live normal lives in the suburbs but must come to the rescue when one of their own is captured by the evil genius, Syndrome. "The Incredibles" is one great time at the movies - the striking graphics, the rousing action scenes, the smart and funny script and the extremely likeable characters make this not just one of the best movies of the year, but one of the best movies ever made about superheroes. Rated PG for action violence. One hour, 55 min.

THE MOTORCYCLE DIARIES
Before the beret, before he became the Latin American guerrilla leader known as Che, before he was executed, before clueless college kids started wearing his picture on T-shirts, Argentina-born Ernesto Guevara went on an eight-month road trip of South America with his buddy Alberto Granado. Played by Gael Garcia Bernal,Guevara transforms from an ordinary young man into a revolutionary over the course of the adventure. In Spanish, with English subtitles. Rated R for language, Two hours, 8 min.

RAY
Jamie Foxx, Kerry Washington. A well-made biopic about the great singer and musician that showcases an extraordianry performance by Foxx as Ray Charles. The movie looks at the artist's triumphs and his demons. Rated PG-13 for sex, language and drug content. Two hours, 32 min.

SAW
Two men find themselves taken hostage by a psychopath who devises ways for his victims to kill each other. This is neither a deep, psychological thriller, nor a mindless slasher flick; rather, it's one skillfully made creepout. Rated R for strong, grisly violence and language. One hour, 40 min.

SHALL WE DANCE
In this remake of a Japanese gem of the same name, Richard Gere plays a glum Chicago lawyer who regains his zest for life by taking ballroom dance classes from Jennifer Lopez and company. For viewers looking for light, low-key, high-gloss entertainment (and fans of "Chicago" and "My Big Fat Greek Wedding"), dance you shall. Rated PG-13 for some sexual references and brief language. One hour, 46 min.

SHARK TALE
The animated "Shark Tale" is a lot like primetime TV, complete with star cameos and lots of commercials. Will Smith plays Oscar, a fish who becomes rich and famous after he takes credit for killing a shark. Rated PG for some mild language and crude humor. One hour, 30 min.
