Update! Cheap eats
After reading last week's story about free and cheap kids meals, a few helpful readers told us about even more deals.
Kids eat free from the children's menu every Monday night at Surf-N-Turf Grill in Roanoke (Grandin Road, 342-4995). One reader pointed out a nice bonus for parents: half-priced drafts from 3 to 6 p.m. Monday.
Kids also eat free from the children's menu every Monday at Pepper's in Salem (Apperson Drive, 387-2555, www.pepperssubs.com). The buffet (featuring pizza, pasta, salad and dessert) is free for ages 8 and younger Monday through Saturday.
Kids ages 6 and younger eat free from the country favorites buffet every day at all Country Cookin' locations (countrycookin.com), and ages 7 to 10 pay only $2.49 for the same. The buffet includes salads, hot vegetables, soups, breads and desserts. On Mondays, ages 10 and younger can get entrees from the children's menu for $1.99 (regular price is $3.49), which includes the buffet and a drink. A daily breakfast buffet is also available for $3.49 for ages 4 to 10.
