Can you complete the Munch Marathon?
l If you have about $100 to spend and a major appetite, it's possible to attend all six fundraisers. You'd eat from morning to night while supporting the Kiwanis Club, the Junior League of Roanoke Valley, three schools, Center in the Square and the American Red Cross. Not bad for one day of philanthropy.
l All of them are within walking distance. You could park at or near the Roanoke Civic Center for the pancake breakfast, then walk around downtown Roanoke for the rest of the day (helping to burn some calories!). City-managed parking lots and garages are free all day Saturday (Center in the Square, Market and Tower garages start charging at 4 p.m.). For an interactive parking map, visit roanokeva.gov. Or call 343-0585 for more information.
l If you're adventurous enough to attempt the Munch Marathon, tell us about it! Send your stories and photos to stephanie.ogilvie@roanoke.com before 9 a.m. Monday.
