l The Gallery at Virginia Western
Opening reception with meet and greet with the artist and refreshments for "Stamps From a Stamp Collectors Dream," a display of the work of Virginia Western faculty member Radford Thomas featuring oversized images of some of the stamps in his collection. Showing through Sept. 29.

l Kluge-Ruhe Aboriginal Art Collection
Opening reception for "Gelam Nguzu Kazi- Dugong My Son," an exhibit of limited-edition linocut prints by artists from the Torres Straight Islands where there is a tradition of carving masks, drums, pipes and pearl shell ornaments and "All Time Favorites: Best Loved Works from the Kluge-Ruhe Collection," an exhibit that includes paintings on bark and canvas, sculpture and objects representing many art styles and techniques used by Aboriginal artists from different regions in Australia.

l "Comin' Up a Storm"
Evelyn is on a mission to establish a winery in Mud Creek. There is a snag, however; the community is "dry." When Evelyn proposes a change in the law, chaos ensues.

l "Smokey Joe's Cafe"
Songwriters Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller feature their greatest hits of the '50s and '60s with more than 30 popular songs that inspired the careers of Elvis, the Coasters, the Drifters, Peggy Lee and Ben E. King. Songs include "On Broadway," "Hound Dog," "Love Potion No. 9" and "Jailhouse Rock."
When: 8 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday. Dinner is served two hours prior to performance.

l "Sweeney Todd, the Demon Barber of Fleet Street"
When Sweeney Todd returns home from a penal colony, he learns his wife has taken her own life after being abused by the judge who falsely accused him of the crime that sent him away. After conspiring with Mrs. Lovett, who makes the worst meat pies in London, the two plan to get revenge.
