War critics can't see Bush's vision of freedom

Cahoon, of Boones Mill, is a retired civil engineer.
Shireen Parsons' sniveling article on terrorism is a classic example of the "blame America first" tripe that The Roanoke Times and its following of liberal pseudo-intellectuals attempt to pass of as informed discussion. She brings nothing to the conversation but a regurgitation of all the talking points from the soundly defeated and discredited radical left wing of the Democratic Party. Her crude insinuations that George W. Bush and Tony Blair lied is, in itself, a lie.
If she truly was and is concerned about the deaths of innocent Iraqis, why did I not read her letters in the Baghdad Times when Saddam Hussein was in power? Why did she not lead a peace march in Iraq to protest the Republican Guard's brutalizing of the Kurds and Shiites? Why is she not now on her way to Iraq to meet face to face with the terrorist leaders there and demand that they stop butchering the Iraqi people, whose only crime is a wish to live in peace and freedom after we leave? She blithely ignores the originators of terrorism and the daily slaughter of innocents worldwide, all in the name Islam. Do I detect hypocrisy here?
I do not know the Gen. Odom whom she quotes as saying that we cannot win against terrorism. Suffice to say that being a U.S. Army general does not necessarily endow one with infallibility any more than it endowed Gen. Ambrose P. Burnside with wisdom at the battle of Fredericksburg in 1862. We can indeed win against terrorism if we shed our '60s flower child instant gratification mentality and have the vision to understand that it is a long-term war of attrition and perseverance. In the face of a free Iraqi people, the terrorists will ultimately give up.
Misguided liberals such as Parsons and her ilk were directly responsible for the death and imprisonment of countless thousands in Vietnam and Cambodia after America turned tail, ran and abandoned her friends. Thank God George W. Bush has a level of integrity and vision of freedom for the oppressed peoples of the Middle East that is so far above and beyond the short-sighted and self-centered Shireen Parsonses of the world that they cannot even comprehend it. In their ignorance, all they can do is engage in partisan sniping.
