After a white-supremacist neo-Nazi group obtained a permit for a demonstration June 25 at the Yorktown Revolutionary War battleground, several other groups are acquiring permits for a counterdemonstration.

Against the gathering of about 300 sympathizers of the National Socialist Movement, several religious and peace organizations expect to attract several hundred supporters to advocate an opposite message of peace, justice and tolerance. Thank goodness for the deodorizing effect of free speech and peaceable assembly that counterdemonstrators will bring.
