Gasoline prices both nationally and locally have fluctuated dramatically in the last year or so, from a high $4.13 per gallon in Roanoke, to a low of $1.37. The graph below shows the daily average (excluding weekends) price for the U.S., Virginia, and the Roanoke area through Feb. 12. Notice the spike in prices around Sept. 15.
