South Roanoke tornado and wind damage
Roanoke Times weather columnist Kevin Myatt went out with the National Weather Service to document damage the morning the June 3, 2008, tornado and wind storm. It was confirmed to be a relatively weak tornado with 70-80 mph winds. It skipped across the southern part of the city for about three minutes.
