The Roanoke Valley has seen eleven homicides in 2008, and 36 homicides from 2006 through mid-July 2008. Twenty-four were in Roanoke, while there were four in Roanoke County, three in Bedford County, four in Franklin County, one in Salem and one in Botetourt County.
