Who we are: Census 2010
Every 10 years, we get refreshed view of who we are thanks to the decennial U.S. Census. The 23rd version of the count of all U.S. residents took place last year, and in early February, the first detailed data for Virginia began to roll out. That first batch will be used to re-draw all of Virginia's federal, state and local legislative districts. But plenty more data is to come, all the way into 2012. Keep up with The Roanoke Time's analysis of the data and what it says about who we are and where we live. Follow multimedia presentations and stories, and keep up with smaller tidbits on our blog.
Every year, dozens of high school athletes from Timesland commit to continue their talents in college, and Roanoke Times sports writer Doug Doughty does his best to keep up with them all. And now, you can, too, with a our searchable database of nearly 200 Timesland's most talented kids, from the class of 2009 and into the future as far as the class of 2013.
