The Edge is a weekly teen page produced by Southwest Virginia high school students under the supervision of The Roanoke Times/roanoke.com staff during the school year. It accepts applications once a year, usually in the spring. Interested applicants should visit The Edge blog or The Edge on Facebook for the latest announcements.

Minority Journalism Workshop
The Roanoke Times Minority Journalism Workshop is a weeklong program, usually held in June, which introduces a small group of high school students to the field of journalism. The program is open to all, with a focus on bringing together students with different experiences and backgrounds. The application process usually begins in the spring.
