   A 1967 photo shows the Norfolk & Western freight station at Second Street and Shenandoah Avenue. It was built near the turn of the 20th century on the original site of the Virginia & Tennessee Railroad depot. The building later housed the Railway Express Agency. It was torn down in 1985.
