"Members of the Roanoke Life Saving and First Aid Crew are proud of their new ambulance, pictured here, which has just been placed in service." The ambulance was purchased with donations and went into operation in 1934. The crew car is on the right.

n "A lawyer for two of Muhammad Ali's former associates has thrown in the towel in a lawsuit he filed against a Hollywood movie company that is making a film about the boxing great. The $50 million lawsuit against Sony Pictures Entertainment was dismissed without prejudice Monday in U.S. District Court in Roanoke at the request of plaintiff attorney Dale Cooter."
