Roanoke City Public Schools will be hosting a job fair for prospective teachers at Patrick Henry High School from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 21. Registration is required. For more information, visit www.rcps.info.

Three Liberty High School students placed in the third annual VTSA Engineering Contest held Jan. 24 at Lord Botetourt High School. Cam Ferguson placed first in engineering problem solving and 3D CAD engineering as well as second in the Co2 race. Zach Massie finished second in structural engineering and third in 3D CAD engineering. Shane Wilson placed second in the Co2 race and third in structural engineering.

Roanoke County Public Schools will hold kindergarten registration March 12 and 13.
Parents of prospective students should register their children at the elementary school in their home area on one of those days between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Each student needs to have the following documents to register: birth certificate, Social Security card, immunization record and proof of residency.

Two members of the Virginia Forensics League at Liberty High School in Bedford competed at the state competition Jan. 24.
Kenzie VanDerwerker placed third in the storytelling competition and Lorin Cahow placed fourth in the prose competition.

The Roanoke Technical Education Center will hold an open house from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday. During that time, parents and students will have the opportunity to meet with teachers and see demonstrations of the curriculum in action.

Jessica Page Mallory, Brittany Arrington and Kelly Overstreet, all seniors at Liberty High School in Bedford, were selected to participate in the Virginia Tech Honor Band the weekend of Jan. 23.
