Christopher Morris has begun a new chapter in his life as the new Athletic Director at Hidden Valley High School.
Originally from Penn Laird, Va., Morris is excited to meet the athletes at Hidden Valley High School and get the year started.
Q What did you do before you became athletic director at HVHS?
A "I was the boy's varsity basketball coach for the last six years and an English teacher. I graduated from Roanoke College in 1988."
Q Did you grow up in this area?
A "I'm originally from Penn Laird, Virginia, which is outside of Harrisonburg."
Q Why did you decide to take this position?
A "I have taught for 15 years and I was ready for a new challenge."
Q What do you think you bring to the table as the new athletic director?
A "My organizational skills, knowledge of athletics, pride in our school and its athletics programs."
Q What do you hope to change or add to the athletic programs at HVHS?
A "I just want our student/athletes, teams and coaches to continue with their success."
Q What is your favorite sport and your favorite team?
A "Of course I'm a huge basketball fan. I played in college and have coached for 15 years, but my favorite team is the Washington Redskins. I'm a football junkie on Sundays."
Q How has the transition been for you, coming to HVHS?
A "It has been very easy so far. I actually assisted our retired athletic director all of last year."
Q What are you most excited about in the upcoming year at HVHS?
A "Working with the athletes and coaches in all sports and helping them with their success."
