What do you think of the proposed Clearbrook Wal-Mart? We have an online poll on swo-co.com — highly unscientific, of course, but still fun. So far, the tally is:

For: 43%

Against: 57%

So what do you think? Go to swo-co.com and look in The Notebook under “business” and cast your vote.

At $250+ to re-pad a clarinet (and we have 28) our band director made the smart call to not damage our instruments, especially the woodwinds. Salem brought a fraction of their band, brass and percussion, not in uniform. Instead of complaining, how about buying some band fruit so we have the money to maintain instruments, dry-clean uniforms and purchase rain gear.

— Band Mom, responding to the blog post about the Hidden Valley band leaving the rain-soaked Salem game early

Again, mi cielo, I’m so proud of your clever and sophisticated mind and ways of teaching the Spanish language to your students. Only through real situations they would be able to learn to speak it. I hope your program is a great success. Love you, Mamita.
