Cave Spring High School

"Our point of emphasis in the off-season was to unify the team. That has become our point of emphasis for the year," head coach Tim Fulton told SWoCo's Emily Flora. Fulton's team -- young this year, fielding only four seniors -- kicks off its season at home on Aug. 22 against Alleghany.

North Cross School

Lee Johnson enters his second year as North Cross school's head football coach with seven new players on his team -- all transfers from public schools, including star running backs Sid Brown (from Christiansburg) and Tyler Caveness (from Cave Spring). Johnson and the Raiders begin their season Aug. 29 with a game at home against Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot.
