Korenegay wins golf tourney

Ken Kornegay of Southwest Roanoke County was the overall winner in the Roanoke Valley Senior Golf Tour's April 14th tournament held at Countryside Golf Club.
Playing in Division 2, Kornegay finished his round with a net score of 63.
Raymond Barton of Salem picked up the Division 1 honors with a net 66, which was decided by matching score cards with Bobby Trent. In Division 3 the net score of 65 was the winning number turned in by Lewis Romano of North Roanoke County, which was also decided by matching score cards with Ralph Gravely.

Celebrating Arbor Day
The Park-Oak Grove Keep America Green Committee recently selected a redbud tree to be planted on our grounds in honor of Arbor Day. The redbud was selected because it is, native to this area, is relatively hearty and requires only a moderate amount of water.
