Cave Spring alumna plans to study in Jerusalem

Amanda Winter, a 2002 Cave Spring High School graduate, will begin cantorial school this summer in Jerusalem at Hebrew Union College.
Amanda graduated from the University of Tennessee in May of 2006 with a bachelor of arts in linguistics, and minors in music (vocal performance) and Spanish. She was an outstanding graduate in interdisciplinary programs, linguistics concentration.
From the summer of 2006 to the present, Amanda has worked at Temple Emanuel as a cantorial soloist, as well as a volunteer choir member with the Temple Chailites. In addition, she taught Sunday School at the Jewish Community Religious School, Hebrew School at Temple Emanuel and worked and played with the little ones at the Jewish Community pre-school. Amanda performed with the Roanoke Symphony Choir and taught Spanish and vocal performance at Community High School. Amanda resides with her parents, Scott and Bonny Winter and sister, Nora.
