Health Focus offers sports physicals May 16
It's time for the 24th Annual Middle and High School Sports Physicals. This is a community service offered to students entering grades seven to 12 in the 2009-10 academic year and living in the Roanoke, Salem and surrounding areas. They can have a physical performed for only $15. This event will take place at Roanoke Catholic School on Saturday, May 16.
Please call 774-4022 ext. 200 or 202 for a timeslot between 8 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Students must have a completed and signed VHSL Physical Examination Form along with their $15. The form is available by calling (434)977-8475, online at www.vhsl.org or www.healthfocusswva.org (under events). Students will be removing shirts, so females should wear a bathing suit top or other suitable attire. This is a one day event only.
Virginia Extreme Force 16U looking for softball players
VA Extreme Force 16U Elite girl's fast pitch softball team will play in seven college showcase tournaments this summer in Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Pennsylvania.
For serious players interested in pursuing exposure to college coaches. Need pitcher and utility players by May 24 to fill 2009 roster.

South Salem Wildcats vs. Glenvar Panthers
The South Salem Wildcats played a softball game against the Glenvar Panthers in Green Hill Park. The ages of the players were 7 and 8 years old. Even though in this league there is no score kept, the girls all played an exciting game. This league typically plays four innings or a timed game of 1 hour and 15 minutes.
