Divine Dance at Showstopper

Roanoke College graduates 15 from Salem

Divine Dance Center competed against 43 dance studios from around the state and area for prestigious top honors at Showstopper, the largest Dance Competition in the Country .

Company members from Salem are:

Courtney Boyd -- G.W. Carver Elementary

Canyon Carroll -- Fort Lewis Elementary School

Allie Hoback -- Andrew Lewis Middle School

Abbie Hoback -- G.W. Carver Elementary School

Sarah Wilkie -- Andrew Lewis Middle School

All company members range in age from 7 to 16. This qualifies them to go to the Showstopper National Finals in either Myrtle Beach, Anaheim, or Galveston this summer.

Patriotic Celebration at Tabernacle Baptist Church on June 28

The worship ministry at Tabernacle Baptist Church, located on 1923 East Main Street Salem, is presenting a Patriotic Celebration of God and Country on Sunday, June 28th at 10:30 a.m. The presentation will include multi-media, a salute to our armed forces and a tribute to our 50 states. Edward Jones adviser honored

Paul J. Curran, a financial adviser for Edward Jones in Salem, was recently honored by the firm for his job performance.

This recognition earned Curran an invitation to Edward Jones' annual Managing Partner's Conference at the firm's regional campus in Phoenix. The three-day meeting pools Edward Jones'representatives for a discussion with James D. Weddle, the firm's managing partner, on issues facing the firm and the financial services industry. Roanoke College graduates 15 from Salem

Fifteen students with ties to Salem and western Roanoke County graduated from Roanoke College on May 2. They were:

Ashley Nicole Austin, daughter of Lewis and Terri Austin, Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in Business Administration. Ashley is a graduate of Glenvar High School.

Michael David Barker, son of Walter and Linda Barker, Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in Business Administration. Michael is a graduate of Salem High School.

Kathryn Lawrence Bryant, daughter of Marilyn Welch and Wallace Bryant, Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in Business Administration. Kathryn is a graduate of Salem High School.

Betsy Leigh Foster, daughter of James and Donna Foster, Bachelor of Arts with a major in Theatre Arts, summa cum laude.

Rebekah Corey Gallion, daughter of Gregory and Deborah Gallion, Bachelor of Arts with a major in Psychology. Rebekah is a graduate of Glenvar High School.

Caleb Fredric Johnston, son of Charles and Patricia Johnston, Bachelor of Arts with a major in Psychology.

James Matthew Jones, son of Donetta Jones, Bachelor of Arts with a major in Economics, magna cum laude, elected to Alpha Chi National Honor Society. James is a graduate of Salem High School.

Jason Donald Jones, son of Donald and Yvette Jones, Bachelor of Arts with a major in English. Jason is a graduate of Salem High School.

Courtney Danielle King, daughter of Timothy and Jody King, Bachelor of Arts with a major in Psychology.Courtney is a graduate of Salem High School.

Alexander Stone Moore, son of Dale Lee and Edward Moore, Bachelor of Science with a major in Physics, elected to Omicron Delta Kappa National Honor Society. Alexander is a graduate of Salem High School.

Lindsey Elizabeth Moore, daughter of Gary and Christine Moore, Bachelor of Arts with a major in Theatre Arts. Lindsey is a graduate of Glenvar High School.

James Dustin Morris, son of John and Debbie Morris, Bachelor of Science with majors in Biology and Business Administration. James is a graduate of Salem High School.
