Our post about the school board thinking about doing away with spring break prompted a lot of responses online. Among them:

I'm curious as to why another week in April is not an option, specifically the week preceding Easter (4/18-4/22). I think it's important for the students and their families to have a traditional Spring Break which consists of a full week! I would find it hard to believe that all of the surrounding school districts are eliminating it.

Don't blame the county - they do a fantastic job considering the limitations they are given. You have to understand all the county considers - Botetourt is a unique county with different circumstances - a lot more schools, people, and land to cover - than Salem! Understand all the facts before you judge.
