Buchanan's Second Fridays Cruise-In will be tonight from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Dozens of antique and classic autos will line Main Street and fill parking lots of downtown Buchanan. Members of the Buchanan Special Events Committee invite you to stop by their booth in front of the Buchanan Town Hall to register for a free opportunity to win door prizes such as gas gift certificates, gift certificates from the local restaurants, car care packages from James River Car Wash, movie passes from the Buchanan Theatre and other door prizes donated by Buchanan's local business community.

Ruritan Club sponsors chicken BBQ June 20

The Bonsack/Blue Ridge Ruritan Club will sponsor a Chicken BBQ on Saturday, June 20.

The BBQ will be held at Bonsack United Methodist Church at 4493 Bonsack Road in Roanoke. Serving Times will be from 4:30 to 6:30. Tickets are $7.00 each an include half a chicken, baked beans, Homeplace cole slaw and a roll.

Desserts will be available for sale by the Hinton Mission Team at the church.

James River High reunion Class of 1974

James River High School graduates of the Class of 1974 will hold a reunion on October 10 and are seeking class members to attend the event. Organizers are getting the use of the renovated high school so all can see the updated version of their alma mater.
