State police said Salem resident Thomas Allen Edwards, 75, was driving southbound on Route 220 about 9:40 p.m. near Craig Creek Road when his 1983 Chevrolet Camaro ran off the right side. Edwards then steered the car back onto the road and struck a 1990 Honda Accord on the northbound side. Edwards was pronounced dead at the scene. Robert William Loving, driver of the Accord, was taken to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, where he died early Sunday. Loving, 53, is from White Sulphur Springs, W.Va.
