Escaped inmate found in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
A Roanoke County-Salem Jail inmate who escaped more than two weeks ago was captured Saturday afternoon.
Adrian Eric Cox, 46, was found at a motel in Myrtle Beach, S.C., according to a news release from the Salem Police Department.
Myrtle Beach police officers found a stolen Roanoke County Sheriff's Office vehicle in the parking lot of the motel and apprehended Cox, the release stated. It is unknown how long Cox had been at the motel.
Cox, who was jailed for violating probation, escaped custody Jan. 19 when he was doing janitorial work at a Roanoke County Sheriff's Office building located in Salem.
Cox is being held without bail at the Myrtle Beach Jail and is charged in Salem with escape and grand larceny. He is awaiting extradition to Virginia.
