Summary: There's now a bus that runs from Roanoke to the Amtrak station in Lynchburg.
Si usted ha tenido alguna vez el deseo de viajar a Washington D.C. evitando manejar por la carretera interestatal 81, o tener que comprar un pasaje de avion; el bus de trasbordo desde Roanoke a la estacion de trenes de la ciudad de Lynchburg es el servicio que usted ha estado esperando.
Si necesita ir a la oficinas de inmigracion en Arlington, Va., o desea visitar los museos y monumentos de la capital, o admirar los famosisimos cerezos en flor durante la primavera, se encuentra a su disposicion un bus que le llevara desde el Centro Civico de Roanoke ubicado en Williamson Road, a la estacion de Amtrak en la ciudad de Lynchburg, en donde le estara esperando el tren que lo llevara a la Capital y otras ciudades intermedias.
Despues de su viaje a Washington, a su regreso a Lynchburg, le estara esperando el bus que le trasladara hasta Roanoke, este servicio de trasbordo es conocido como "el trasbordador inteligente", el cual ha estado ofreciendo sus servicios desde el verano pasado, y ha probado ser muy popular entre los viajeros.
El pasaje en el autobus es de 4 dolares cada via, lo que requiere tener a disposicion la suma exacta.
Si usted llega al Civic Center en su automovil, lo puede dejar en el estacionamiento "Seccion C", por un plazo de diez dias, en forma totalmente gratuita.
El equipaje de los viajeros esta limitada a 3 valijas por persona, con un peso maximo total de 150 libras.

If you have ever wished for a way to travel to Washington D.C. that doesn't involve driving up Interstate 81 or an expensive plane ticket, the commuter bus to the Lynchburg train station may be just what you are looking for. If you need to go to the immigration offices in Washington, or want to visit some museums and monuments, or would like to see the world famous cherry trees in blossom this spring, there is a bus that will take you from the Roanoke Civic Center on Williamson Road to the Amtrak station in Lynchburg where you can catch the train to Washington D.C. and other cities along the way. When you are ready to return, there is a bus from the Lynchburg station back to the Roanoke Civic Center. This commuter bus, known as "The Smart Way Connector", has been in service since last summer and has proved to be very popular with travelers. The fare is $4.00 each way and you must have the correct change. You may leave your car in the Roanoke Civic Center parking lot in the designated area (Lot C) for up to ten days at no charge.
