I am not a political activist. I listen to the issues and hear both sides speak. I am not a Republican or a Democrat. I do not like to be labeled. I choose who I think would do the best job. That is my role as a voter.

I generally vote, though not always. If I have not heard enough to know, I do not want to cast my vote na•vely. However, my previous voting experiences aside, I have had it up to here with the presidential election this year. I am angry with the hypocrisy of it all.

Three years ago, when the terrorist attacks in New York happened, everyone wanted to go to war. That is all that was talked about.

So we go to war. Now the same people who were so pro-war are the people who are anti-war. They are the people who are questioning why. Why did we go to war?

I thought the answer was evident. Evidently not.

Anti-war activists are using that as a tool to crucify President Bush. He did what the majority wanted, because we are in a democracy, and now they have changed their minds and he is at fault.

Overall, I am a fan of Bush. He has not given me reason not to be. He made his decisions on what he thought best for the country and has stood by those decisions - which was his job. After all, that was why we elected him to be there, to make those decisions.

I admire the fact that he is who he is and does not try to be someone he is not. When he stands up and speaks, he openly acknowledges his religious preferences, something that many people are afraid to do and stray from because of the "politics" of it all. They worry about what people will think of them.

Bush is in a position of power, where everyone is watching, yet he says what he means and stands behind what he believes. I find that to be rare with everyday people, much less politicians.

Then there is John Kerry. Kerry has made me admire Bush even more. Kerry's campaign has appeared as a smear campaign against Bush.

How can I believe that he would do a good job as a leader when he tries to make himself look better by putting other people down, by showing their faults and slandering them?

If you cannot prove an issue on its own and have to make someone else look bad to make you look better, then your issues are not good enough to stand alone.

Why does everything have to become an issue that is not an issue?

Why can't we just get the facts and make our decision instead of turning a serious event like the presidential election into a spectacle?
