On the first day of Christmas, my bartender gave to meeee a creamy, minty maaartini!
OK, so that's not how the traditional carol, "The Twelve Days of Christmas," starts out. But it would be if we were telling the story through cocktails, which is what 12 local bartenders have agreed to help me do. Each bartender was randomly assigned a chorus from the beloved Christmas carol, from "Two Turtle Doves" all the way up to "12 Drummers Drumming."
Whether they were inspired by the number in their phrase, the object or the spirit of the season in general, these local mixologists each came up with a distinct drink with which to celebrate the holidays.
You may choose to make the drink at home yourself or treat yourself to the house version at each of the restaurants represented here. Whatever you do, drink responsibly and have a safe, merry holiday season.
