Ruby Mae Emore Blackwell, 89, of Lexington died Sunday, November 23, 2014 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Born March 22, 1925 in Rockbridge County, she was a daughter of the late George Thomas Emore and Ethel Pooley Emore.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Campbell Blackwell, Sr.; a son, Carl C. Blackwell, Jr.; grandson, Matthew. She was a member of Lauderdale A.R.P. Presbyterian Church.Surviving are her two sons, William Blackwell and wife, Cindy, of Richmond, Va.,Larry Blackwell and wife, Rita, of Lexington, Va.; one sister, Louise E. Chaplin, of Glasgow, Va.; three granddaughters, Stephanie Stewart, of Birmingham, Ala., Tisha Blackwell, of Richmond, Va.,Lauren Wright, of Ashburn, Va.; two great grandchildren, Mark and Elizabeth Shaner, of Lexington, Va.; daughter-in-law, Dorothy Blackwell, of Lexington, Va.; many nieces and nephews, friends and all who will miss her.A Funeral Service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at Harrison Funeral Chapel with Pastor John Choi officiating.
