Names and Changes
Guidelines for getting your promotion in The Roanoke Times
The Names and Changes column runs announcements as a free service for businesses and organizations in The Roanoke Times' circulation area. It aims to inform the public of changes in employment and governance.
DEADLINE: Announcements are due by Monday at 5 p.m for publication in the following Sunday's Business section.

PHOTOGRAPHS: E-mailed images must be in a jpg format of at least a 110 resolution. Margins should be cropped. Headshots are preferred. Hard copy photographs can be color or black-and-white. Photographs may not be returned if a self-addressed envelope is not included in the release.
GUIDELINES/EXAMPLES of acceptable announcements:
Management promotions and appointments
Professional partners and associates
Sales, including established sales people joining insurance companies, investment firms, media, etc.
Board members/officers, excluding reappointments or re-elections
College appointments
Education, including primary or national licensure and professional certifications, excluding designations from non-profits and industry groups. The licensure or certification must come from state or federal boards or agencies. For example, certified public accountants and registered architects.
Retirements
Not acceptable
In-house recognitions, such as employee-of-the-month awards
Renewals of board memberships or terms of office
Employees returning to previously held positions or new positions with previous employers.
