VIPdesk wants 500 to work from home
An employer is looking for 500 Virginia residents to work in the fashion industry from home, serving as customer service representatives in a position that requires a well-equipped home office and knowledge of expensive clothing.
VIPdesk, based in Alexandria, describes itself as a provider of virtual customer support-center services. Monday, the company put out a call for hundreds of workers needed to support two fashion retailers by talking with customers, taking orders and recommending products. Applicants are being asked to apply online.
VIPdesk wants to hear from "people with customer service backgrounds, retail experience and knowledge of the clothing industry, with preference toward the higher end," said James Koller, the company's sales strategy analyst. He declined to say how much the workers will be paid.
