Virginia Tech University Distinguished Professor Robert Bodnar's innovative work has led him to be named Virginia's Outstanding Scientist 2010 by Gov. Bob McDonnell and the Science Museum of Virginia.

Virginia Tech's College of Agriculture and Life Sciences has named Pavli Mykerezi director of the agricultural technology program.

Yang Cao, assistant professor in the computer science department at Virginia Tech's College of Engineering, has won a National Science Foundation Faculty Early Career Development award.

Teresa Keller, Emory & Henry College professor of mass communications has been awarded the 2010 Outstanding Faculty Award by the State Council for Higher Education in Virginia.

Romesh Batra, Virginia Tech professor of engineering science and mechanics, is a 2010 recipient of the Virginia Outstanding Faculty Award sponsored by the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia and Dominion.

Maura Borrego, Virginia Tech assistant professor of engineering education, is a 2010 recipient of one of two Virginia Outstanding Faculty Rising Star Awards sponsored by the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia and Dominion.
