Man injured in Roanoke motorcycle wreck Tuesday identified

Roanoke police today identified the man critic ally injured when he crashed his motorcycle in southeast Roanoke on Tuesday. Christopher Nykeith Patterson, 33 of Roanoke, remains hospitalized at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, police spokeswoman Aisha Johnson said. Hospital spokesman Eric Earnhart said today that Patterson was listed in critical condition. Patterson was northbound in the 1000 block of 13th Street about 6:49 p.m. Tuesday when he apparently ran off the right side of the road, struck a tree and slammed into a parked pickup truck in the parking lot of Advance Auto Parts, Johnson said. The wreck's cause remains under investigation, she said.
