What's a worldly guy like Cyrus Pace doing in the Roanoke Valley? Trying to spread jazz music to his home folks.
Pace, a Salem native, studied music in New York City, where Hammond B-3 organ genius Dr. Lonnie Smith became a mentor. Since his return home, he's played here with Smith, Rene Marie and Jane Powell. His band, The Non-Profits, is featured in this week's Q&A.
He joins us in the IO studio/hovel and we spin a couple of his tunes.
